    The Real Summer Bay

    Beautiful Palm Beach is a golden stretch of pristine beach that is a jewel in Australia’s coastline. So back in 1987, when Home and Away’s location scouts were hunting for a beach to represent Summer Bay, they couldn’t look past Palm Beach, 40km north of Sydney. Fringed by lush greenery, the beach perfectly symbolises the idyllic and uniquely Australian setting for the series.

    Home and Away fans flock here from around the world to get a taste of the action. And they’re not the only ones to make the trip. Celebrities such as Mick Jagger, Nicole Kidman and Elle Macpherson spend summers on the peninsula of Sydney’s northern most suburb.
