Monday 24/01/2011 (Episode: 5216)
6 weeks have passed and the Bucktons and friends say goodbye to Ross at his funeral. Each family member is dealing with their grief in their own way but Charlie is amazed that Morag is not showing more remorse for the passing of her husband. Ruby is angry at Charlie for not letting her see Ross last year when she had the chance. Charlie is exhausted by the end of the day and seeks comfort with Angelo. Their parting is tense and we find out they have broken up over the break.
Morag pushes down her grief as she attempts to assist Alf in getting bail. Alf is still upset at being charged with the murder of Penn Graham and is anxious to be freed from incarceration. Despite opposition from Robertson, Morag successfully argues that Alf be release into her custody. Once free, Alf voices his fury about Will and Morag wonders if letting him free was such a good idea.
After running out of the wedding to Vittorio, Liam and Bianca are now blissfully living away from the rest of the world. Liam returns to the diner in time to hear of Ross’s passing and goes to visit Charlie. He returns to Bianca with news from the world and they decide to enjoy their paradise for as long as they can.
Tuesday 25/01/2011 (Episode 5217)
An angry Alf returns home from prison with Morag keen to start preparing his defence. Alf is determined to not stay locked away in his house but rather try and get back out into the bay and move on with his life as best he can till the trial. Whilst out he comes face to face with Will and unable to control himself, lashes out.
Will is struggling since handing Alf over to the police. He is constantly hungover and Irene tries to be supportive but it is an uphill struggle. Irene has to deal with the disapproval of her friends but she stays strong for Will.
Ruby and Charlie discuss the failure of her relationship with Angelo and the fact that they had to move back with Leah. Ruby frustrated goes to speak to Angelo where Angelo reveals that he was the one that called off the relationship.
Nicole and Marilyn return from a long trip and it is revealed that she is indeed still pregnant despite the fact that she had been thinking of having a termination. The news shocks some of her friends and makes Nicole reconsider her decision.
Wednesday 26/01/2011 (Episode 5218)
In light of Alf’s attack on Will, Morag arranges for people to keep an eye on Alf as she prepares his defence. Morag takes special interest in the fact that Nicole is carrying Alf’s baby. Morag questions Nicole quite harshly on the circumstances of her baby and how it makes her feel, despite Alf’s strong objections. Morag reveals that she will be using the information to show a jury that other people had a motive for Penn’s murder.
Marilyn and Sid are talking over the implications of Nicole keeping the baby. Marilyn questions Sid over his desire to have any involvement in the baby’s life. At the party for Alf, Sid notes Marilyn and Nicole in serious discussion. Later that night Marilyn reveals that she plans to adopt Nicole’s baby.
Leah is surprised to hear VJ defending Robertson. Initally she thinks it is because Robertson has been talking to VJ but after discussions with Robertson and VJ she realises that VJ has been growing up and maturing.
Thursday 27/01/2011 (Episode 5219)
Shocked by Marilyn’s announcement that she will be adopting Nicole’s baby, Sid tries to wrap his head around the implications for him and his family. Sid goes to see Nicole and get her feelings on the subject. Sid tells Marilyn that though he is not sure, he is open to the idea of them raising Nicole’s baby.
Leah is growing concerned with VJ and is worried about his ability to fit in when High School starts. Dex takes the young VJ under his wing to help prepare him for High School.
Xavier has been stressing over the fact that since April went to France she has become increasingly distant so much that he hasn’t heard from her for weeks. Romeo tries to get Xavier to consider she has moved on from him. Though reluctant Xavier finally starts to accept this and meets the new girl in town. But as things start to heat up, April arrives just in time to see Xavier in the arms of another girl.
Friday 28/01/2011 (Episode 5220)
April has returned to Summer Bay in time to see Xavier kissing a new girl. Though Xavier attempts to patch things up with April, she seems distant. Irene offers to have April stay with her but Bianca is keen to have April stay with her. Unsure of her place, April decides to try staying with Bianca and Liam.
With a sick Lily, Will’s constant drinking is causing Irene some concern. She tells him that she is hiding her illness from Will and that he needs to start doing what is right for his daughter. Will starts spending time with Lily who reveals she is concerned for her father.
Robertson comes by to check on his witness as Morag arrives. Morag reveals that she intends to place his daughter on the witness stand which causes Will to worry about the consequences of his actions to his family. Will finally decides to leave Summer Bay stopping only to reveal to Morag that he lied in his statement to the police.
